  this is a really lousy phone. Thank goodness I have the option to exchange this. I gotta go back to Android. WP has a long way to go before it's ready for prime-time.

  The 8x and Nokia 920 use Adreno 225 graphics, newer Androids use 320 GPU, you didn't mention what GPU there using for this "cheaper model of a 8x" yet it has a SD card, aside from the screen if expansion is an issue, i would get this one or the Samsung Odysey but I hated the Odysey screen compared to the 8x with 768p resolution.

  Lisa, if this is the same as my 8x, you ONLY get Beats AUDIO on the Earphones not on the external speakers. The speakers are fine otherwise and sound way more awesome with Beats Audio, when you plug in earphones beats audio automatically turns on.

  Lately my 8x has issues dropping the signal. Sometimes turning on and off the notification screen will go back to normal. Other times recently I've had to turn the phone off and back on again. Occasionally I get the message theres no tower I can only use the phone for emergency calls. I don't know if this was an issue from the last WP8 update, I'm thinking it is. I've seen some updates talk about fixing "issues" with phones when they made updates and had to release new updates to fix the problem

  The HTC 8x you had to DOWNLOAD Here Drive, it wasn't built onto the phone already. It works great for me, only once have I had an issue where the Dairy Queen I was looking for was no longer there. A brand new McDonald's was in it's place, otherwise even driving to the ocean and finding a camping site for RV's it even had the dirt roads in its Map of my state.

  Compare a Odyseey from Samsung, same screen, it looked terrible, I could see the pixels side by side with a HTC 8x, the videos were so much more night and day.

  Reminds me of Samsungs WP8 Odysey, cheap screen looked terrible compared to the HTC 8x. This to me looks like the 8S model they promised a LONG time ago for countries where money is an issue. At least this one has a SD card slot, but I have plenty of space left almost 11 gigs on my 8x even after a few games and a lot of Apps like Here Drive, etc.

  on a side note, can you please give me any hints on google nexus 5 without breaking your NDA. perhaps tell me a thing about if the screen rumors are true, and perhaps about wireless ac? just phrase it like "I believe in my opinion that the nexus 5 will/will not have etc etc. please, i am windering if i should wait. so its important to me.

  Resolution matters a hell of a lot when taking into account value for money. Your opinion carries little weight here as it sounds like you'd buy any overpriced product regardless of feature set as long as it has a fruit logo stamped on it.

  Windows phone didn't support very high resolutions for quite some time, and the specs are mandated by Microsoft. Now MS and the manufacturers have gotten the clue and we should see quad core CPUs and higher res displays within a year.

  it's basically an 8S in the body of an 8X. I wish they called it an 8ST because the 8X name makes it seem like an improved version of the 8X, but it isn't.
