  There were a lot of things Huawei did right. I liked some of the additions to Android they had with their UI and how they pushed the price of their phones so competitively. It's a shame they're banned.

  The cover screen is more usable, sure, but at the cost of making the inner screen's aspect ratio absolutely FUCKING HORRIBLE for ANY wide-screen media consumption! You are wasting literally HALF of the Mate X2's 8" display when watching 16:9 video just because it's SOOOOO damn square!

  Well you were never 'right', outward folding was always better & perfectly practical when you get used to it, mines been fine in full daily use for 20mnths
  Huawei have finally seen sense & gone back to outward folding for the just released Mate XS2.. an upgraded Mate XS reverting to OUTWARD folding which is the best way to fold.

  Hello!
  I have a Huawei Mate 10 pro and a Huawei Mediapad M6 8.4 Tablet. I am i the market for using a fold phone to combine the two for my business. I am an ESL teacher that needs to do video and classes live. It would be really great to use the Huawei Mate Xs or the X2. My question is would I be able to use screen recorder and selfie in the tablet mode of the phone. Huawei seems to me to be of much better quality than Samsung. I also can work around no Google play access. What is your opinion.

  Everyone saying the Huawei is clearly the best and if not for the ban they would be number 1 is overlooking that this phone is priced at $3k, whereas the Samsung Fold is priced at $1.7K. So it's literally almost double the price. I am sure Samsung could make a fold that good also if they doubled the price tag. The point is too reach mass adoption, so it doesn't matter how many kinks you work out it will never be adopted by the masses at $3K, heck even $1.7K is a stretch and Samsung knows this, which is why they have been bringing the price down.

  Regarding foldable phones, I don't think they will succeed - they are foldable tablets in the end; they are only better at watching movies. But they lack a good audio (a-la-Nokia) and a good 10,000 mAh battery. Also, the crease has 10 times less lifetime than a plain display.
  May be in the future, you're right.
