It will be able to run Instagram and you can take photos with the rear camera. There are plenty of better phones out there now though. PS. Watched a couple of your vids, you've got talent!

This phone really isnt the most powerful device. The apps that are most likely crashing require a higher powered phone to handle it. For what you pay this device is good but to get the most out of all the Android apps you do need to step up a little.

Good price! I have never done any custom rom work, I have always stayed with the trusted supplier provided OS. I hope you get the help from another viewer :)

I'm 14 years old I bought this on trade me (NZ) for $50NZD + $10NZD shipping then a 8GB MicroSD for $8NZD + $5NZD shipping and a sim with credit for $20NZD. Total: $96NZD for a great phone with a 8Gb storage and a fair bit of credit

@TheBlackbailey Congrats on the new phone! There is an app available in the android market which will help you transfer files over bluetooth, it is called Bluetooth File Transfer. Give that a whirl and let me know how you go!

@angchu1 Battery life wasnt bad, getting through a day is generally OK for a smartphone because you can charge it while you sleep. Turn by turn only via Google Maps.
  • @user_1uhcgna
    1970-01-01T00:00:00Z
just wonder what is the battery life? I read somewhere saying it can only last for a day! Furthermore, if it comes with a turn-by-turn navigation software?

@nikomanuel1 well when I tested the device I just downloaded Adobe Flash from the Android Market. So the only real difference is multitouch which may be a big deal for some?

@isobellandrews There are some music stores, havent tried it myself but let me know :) If not, use a music store from your PC and copy and paste it to your Huawei. Heaps of free apps (Angry Birds is my favourite) and yes some paid apps but they are mostly less than $4. I have never had to buy an app before because I didnt need one.

@isobellandrews No worries, fortunately I am in front of my PC at the moment. The only phone you ought to consider is the HTC Wildfire as it is around the same price. Either choice will be amazing value for such a feature rich device. Promise to let me know how you go with it though!

@isobellandrews The round button can be used for navigation (up, down, right, left and select) however since Android is designed for touch, I really didnt use the buttons. I guess some people will like the button but I dont think it needs to be there. Hope this helps! :)

@isobellandrews $99? wow that is cheap. If your budget is around the $150 mark then that is a perfect fit.

@FaizanA95 I didnt test a lot of games on the device but low end games should work fine on this device. I dont have the phone with me anymore as I had to return it after a week., so I am unable to test this for you. Maybe someone else will see your comments and assist, i hope. Cheers.

    1970-01-01T00:00:00Z
@FaizanA95 I loaded a couple of games on there during my time with the device and the simpler games worked well, I think it was a bubble breaker game. I loaded Angry Birds on there and it struggled big time. The phone doesnt have a lot of memory or an amazing processor so it doesnt do gaming very well. If you are after a phone to play games on you would be better with a more powerful Android device, or an iPhone. So, like I said, yes it can play games but its certainly not a gaming device.

HTC Wildfire is easily more than twice the price of the Ideos unlocked. Multiply that with two for two parents and the Ideos yields a cosiderable saving.

@jawadahmad77 That's a good point however if I were looking to give a cheaper smartphone to adults I would consider the HTC Wildfire. Each to their own, but I agree the device will suit anyone wanting to start their smartphone lifestyle. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Kids are not the only demographic for a cheap smartphone. Anyone looking to get their feet wet without a massive outlay may be interested. Im researching the ideos for my parents who are currently using nokias from the 90's.
