  Just got this one. It's really nice for us who want a basic smartwatch with the full look of a normal watch (Diver Watch). Sure I'd like it if it had built in GPS, but for heart rate and NFC, I've got my phone for it. I like to wear it as a formal/dress watch with a stainless steel watchband/bracelet. It looks much better that way. Besides, if I were working out, I wouldn't wear a regular watch, so I don't mind the lack of heart rate sensors.
  
  
  Hands get in the way? I mean if you want to look at text like it is a work of art, then yes. But if you look at the notifications just to glance at them, you only need a split second to scroll with the crown or press the upper right button and you know the what the message is fully saying. (smh, first world problems)

  I did buy this watch just for it to be different that the others Watches I have and I've been wanting a plain watch with a basic changeable back ground for awhile. I'm a normal wear OS user and have a diesel or Huawei for that. So if I wanted to go out on the town and have a watch that looks like a non Wear OS phone, this a good for that .I have received a few compliments and when I told them I could switch to a wear OS watch they were very interested. I usually never read my messages on the watch I just know I have one a how important it is. Basic functions like temp date are close enough for me walking stats are good enough for me. To me the added feature of just being a watch is one that I've been looking for, for a long time. For me I believe time piece collectors will enjoy at least the novelty.

  @Michael Fisher if you're reading this ,then please make a review for the Sony DPT-RP1 13.3. Whats your thought about it ? it seems very appealing but the reviews on amazon and the price tag makes me think twise about it. I feel it would be perfect for my note taking and to start reading my pdf books. I dont like the glare or the backlighting from tablets. Please let me know what you think.

  The sad thing is that analog watch hands seem like such a great idea on paper. As you mentioned, they're just so much easier to see in sunlight, and personally, I think they are more aesthetically pleasing than digital clocks. Unfortunately, like most things with LG's portable electronics, the great ideas just fall flat in execution.

  There was one ggod function with Android Wear which turned into Wear OS. Say ok google, "text my wife" or any contact and it would generate the text and it gave you 5 seconds to cancel it if not it would sent automatically. Was super useful but now it just generates the message and hangs on the watch and I have to press send. Fail!

  This watch would be easier to swallow purchasing (at the discounted price) if LG supported their products. They are really busy trying to screw all of their Watch Sport customers by not acknowledging a super common issue with the watch shutting off at even a full charge. Mine hasn't even updated since October 2017. LG would like me to pay for a fix but I am seeing reports that people are still having issues even after paying. Hard to stomach so I won't be purchasing LG products at all anymore. Matter of fact they are still holding my watch hostage until I pay $20 for a diagnostic fee. :(

  I think I agree with you on this one, Michael. This is a watch that you would want to love, but you can't. Those analogue hands would just get in the way most of the time. you buy a smartwatch like this for the information that you can get on the screen, and if two analogue hands are going to keep getting in the way, then that's a deal breaker.

  I don't know... I think this watch is more for someone like me. I don't usually check the Samsung Health stuff (though, I do appreciate it's there,) and I'm not reading messages on my watch either. I also don't use it to pay for things because I don't want my accounts linked to Google. So, the clever design, better battery life, and ability to have it still function as a watch after the battery is mostly drained... All makes this quite compelling.
  
  That said, I value the ability to use my watch as an emergency phone far more.

  How about mechanical hands that are placed on the outside of the screen pointing inwards, and rotate around it?
  Would be less obtrusive for sure, but I don't know if it's possible to make something like that.

  I love the concept and I the hands don't bother me in front of the messages from what I saw in the video. The lack of NFC is the deal breaker for me - I would pick one of these up at the sale price if it had that (don't really care about GPS or a heart monitor in my watch). Maybe if it had some more style as well (my current daily work watch is the Summit 2).
