  Actually I paid $500 for the Google Pixel 7 last year. It SUCKS. I should have gotten this phone. Broke the Pixel, now I bought this as a replacement for $230 not expecting much. It's way faster, larger, better than my pixel. Including picture quality. So yea tweak the settings a bit and get a Moto Stylus... Even my husband w an iPhone 14 pro is impressed w this phone.

  That’s $500?! I’ve had better at $200... wow. You can literally buy older OnePlus devices for that price, and sometimes they have sales at $499 - $599 even for their newer models. Yikes. I had the 5G Stylus 2021 and the display sucked. This seems a step up but still nowhere near $500-worth. I can see maybe $150 for this device. If I’m spending premium, I expect premium. Even at mid-level such as $500 there are better.

  I just recently bought this phone, as did my wife for herself. She had the older model which was 3 or more years old and compared to mine I thought hers was pretty impressive. We're old farts and I myself pretty much suck with cell phones but mine was a $70 Celero 5g phone that I bought a year or two ago through Boost Mobile. We've used Virgin Mobile no-contract service since the dinosaur age, of course Virgin Mobile was taken over by Boost Mobile so I bought the Celero just to take advantage of the 5g network because my prior cell was 3g. SLOW! My wife dropped her phone and cracked the screen so she explored the Boost web site and found that she was eligible for an upgrade so she upgraded to this from her older version while I decided to upgrade to this after plunking mine into the toilet while doing my business. It fell out of my pocket while flushing and there was no way I was ever taking it to my face again. I've got to say, I'm really very happy with this phone for the $99 upgrade price.

  Actually, do not get it at all. You won't have update to Android 13. The phone is going on year and half old already and still not updated to 13. I mean they already working on beta Android 14. That is how slow Lenovo (Motorola) is. I bought this phone, then bought Samsung Galaxy A34 International phone, just to get normal updates and I still get a warranty, international warranty. I regret Motorola purchase, not Samsungs phone.

  Im on my 3rd moto g variant, since 2020. I buy last years model, and have paid upto $190 on my first, (lasted a year and half) The second made it 2 years and the unreplaceable battery swelled up and knocked the back of the phone loose. I have this phone <4g model> in this video...cricket online $59 with minor plan adjustment. No way would I pay more than 125 for these disposable phones. I do run the heck out of it aswell as the others I've had. Hours a day of streams/podcasts. Its my TV set.

  And a Lifetime Boost Unlimited Plan for $25 a month. And they say, its pretty much UNLIMITED. And if you keep it under 100 Gigs of High Speed a month. You shouldn't have a problem. They frown on anything above that. But that's a ton of data.
  Overall, pretty cheap for the package. So, we'll see 😊

  I already bought mine for half off, and appreciate the critical review. I wasn't going to buy it at full price.
  
  But for me having the best capacity in the stylus line within this (discounted) price range was a must for my work.
  I'm an artist, and need to sketch out ideas on the fly sometimes, do lots of visual planning and vision board type stuff.
  So I do not regret my purchase.
  
  That said, I wholeheartedly agree that styluses today should have at least SOME pressure sensitivity.
  (Lighter pressure for thinner & lighter pigment, heavier pressure for a thicker line & more opaque pigment)
  
  High tech dedicated artist tablet pens today run as low as $15.
  I don't see a reason why they can't/won't do this. Artists would gobble them up, especially being a more affordable option. They'd have a niche cornered all to themselves.
  
  Drawing tablets can be expensive, and the affordable ones need to be hooked up to your computer to run.
  If you don't have a laptop you are stuck at your stationary pc a lot.
  
  Pressure sensitivity aside.
  I'm excited to be able to sketch quick ideas for projects away from my computer, and still do it on a device so that I can quickly send/upload those files from and a decent enough camera to even snap photos of irl sketches to edit further on my device if needed.

  I think you completely missed the point of the phones like this. It wasn't meant to be a flagship Stylus experience. For $250 right now it's meant to be a better value for your money. Expecting flagship experience on a budget is very unrealistic. You know at a $250 price point you are going to be making some compromises. But if you are looking at this phone it means you can't afford a flagship. I will agree at $500 this is a much tougher sell. At that price you can get a year or two old flagship. However at $250 right now I think it's a good deal.

  These Motorola phones always end up getting discounted pretty quickly, so it's priced on par with a budget phone rather than a mid range. 249 for the 8gb/256+256 unlocked version is a lot of phone for cheap.
  
  For me, I'm so used to Moto's karate chop for flashlight and twist for camera that any other phone I just end up shaking around and not getting anywhere.

  I bought this phone for 199 today. It's just a turd. The speaker and sound is absolutely terrible. It's low and bad quality. The skin that Moto has put on Android 12 is freaking terrible and sad. The stylus is a thin strip of junk. I just can't understand why anyone would have this thing. It's the same price from my carrier for this Moto Stylus 5g as the Samsung Galaxy a53. It's not even on the same continent as the a53! It's just cheap junk. The only supposed advantage is the 6.7 inch screen. It is a terrible screen no matter how far it's stretched out.

  Got one in Jan. Microphone not worked from day one have to use a bluetooth device to talk on phone for people to hear you. Tried resets etc, no microphone. Screen is so dim I can NOT see it in any kind of sunlight, and now it will not accept a charge from any of my cords. Huge waste of money.

  Damn ... macro photos are the only the photos I take with a cell phone. For anything else I use a real camera.
  Nice thing about the Nexus 6 (aka Motorola Nexus X) was two front mounted speakers.
  I do like the idea that the retained the headphones jack ... the main reason I will not consider a Google Pixel phone.
  
  When reviewing smart phones, it seems no one ever covers the device's primary function: How well it works as a phone ... background noise canceling, clear audio (ear piece and microphone), volume, hearing-aid compatibility, number blocking, headset options ... stop thinking of it as a game machine and consider it as a communications device. Sadly an old fashioned Maw Bell analog desk phone usually works better as a phone (clarity and reliability) than any cell phone.

  just got this phone... and let me telll you.. MY 2020 version is way better!! This 2022 phone When you want to customize your color theme it gives you the option to!! BUT THE FUCKING COLOR IS DIULUTED AND WATERED DOWN IN THE FINAL TOUCH! also the whites and darks looked better on my 2020 version!! The screen was a lot more brighter in 2020 version!! The side homescreen button sensor is super annoying. I dont know why they got rid of it from the back. Now I cant even hold my phone without accidentaly pressing the damm sensor and opening the damm phone. I never had this issue with the 2020 version and trust me I love using the sensor to log in or open my phone, but this side sensor is so annoying. I am going to return this phone.
