  i am looking at getting this  phone. i've had my samsung intercept for 4 years this xmas. i want a qwerty keyboard and don't want to be locked  into a ripoff contract.
  it is now goin for less than 100 bucks so i think i will do this as it seems to be the best no contract option out there.

  I like Qwerty keyboard because its a nightmare for me to use the touch on screen. I am always hitting the wrong letters on a touch screen. takes me for ever to make out a text.

  There are those that have modded the phone to give access to the sim card slot on the XDA forums but it looks quite difficult. The fixed sim slot makes using a different sim impossible.

  Having owned moto's since the classic II, motorola does it well. great sound quality, tank like durability,and a speak and spell interface..... I'll take it any day over an Iphone.

  I suppose physical keyboards are rare because they are more costly to localize. Okay, most languages can do with US qwerty, but think Japan: big market, and they have little use for qwerty. Same for South-Korea or Russia.

  The Photon Q is significantly faster, has LTE (for what that's worth right now on Sprint) and is more expensive. Sorta a different class of device.
