5 inch screen as huge in 2024 lol. I can't believe 10 yrs coming up for this phone. I loved this phone.

best phone ever
@user_y3ig6tr1bv 2024-03-01T04:23:09Z
Despite its age, this will probably be my next phone! I like the idea of being able to replace the battery which it seems impossible to find in a flagship phone these days. At this time I am using a BlackBerry Priv; it's slow but seems to work fine for my needs. I will miss the hidden keyboard though, which is very useful when typing and scrolling the web. It is one of the most comfortable phones to hold up to my ear while talking when extended. It also doubles as a great conversation piece because of the hidden keyboard too! PS: I really enjoy your videos; well well-orchestrated and informative!!

Gather around for an old person story time... And a rant...
I think I had my first Note 4 four years after it released. It was a refurbished unit and I remember the moment I opened the box. I was amazed by the screen. Anyway...not even a month later during a metal festival, I either dropped it or had it stolen in the crowd. Needless to say I was pretty bummed and I didn't get to enjoy the last act for the night (it was Avenged Sevenfold and it specially sucked because as I was leaving they played their just released the day before song "The stage"). A couple months passed and I got the Yotaphone 2...the screen was great too (although smaller) and an among all its great plus' the greatest was the e-ink screen on the back...I kept that phone for about a year, maybe less...I don't remember. Then one day after an android update, the rear screen had a couple dark lines (really thin ones) appear. This honestly wasn't a great deal, but I decided to sell it. What did I buy? Not a note 4...I had enjoyed so much having an e-ink screen that I got a Hisense A2. I really can't recall why I didn't just get another yotaphone 2 or even better, a yotaphone 3, but the point is...that phone was CRAP...resold it. Then... I decided to get another Note 4 along with an extra battery(which, by the way, was stolen from my luggage in a flight to the US). It, as expected, worked like a charm...I broke the screen 2 times and as it wasn't too expensive to replace it I fixed it...then one fateful day I dropped it and I couldn't replace the screen(turns out, for god knows what reason, the screen replacements became more expensive than the phone) sadly I put away my 2nd Note 4. Then, for some reason I got an ZTE Axon M (probably because I already then started to feel nostalgia for the time when phones were fun) it was cool, the screens were nice, but the software was...not good. I resold it. Fast forward some time and I decided to finally get something more "current" than a Note 4...got a Note 9...it was...ok. Then one day, a friend asked me for an used phone recommendation...without a doubt I recommended her the Note 4. We bought one and she liked it, but unfortunately for her the one we found bought was "glitchy"(found out later it was an old battery problem)...feeling bad for my recommendation, and not really happy with the Note 9 I suggested her an exchange... That was almost 4 years ago. Then, as some apps stopped updating, I decided to try other phones... Got the Unihertz Atom - quite a cool little phone..great conversation starter if, if only the screen had been Amoled and the camera a little better I would've kept it...went back to my Note 4...then, as I was getting ready for a big hike and all the battery replacements i could find sucked, I decided to buy a proper rugged big battery phone. I got an Oukitel WP9 (Not very good camera and screen definitely shitty...but damn did I enjoy having a phone that went a whole week in the forest without needing a recharge) anyway...I resold it, because I just couldn't stop using my Note 4 for pictures and video watching... Finally, about a year ago, tired of having its functionality hindered by the planned obsolescence of the software I decided to try updating it...I got Lineage OS 18.1 with android 11. Needles to say...I miss the Spen features, but damn I got new life breathed into my trusty phone for many years more (I'm actually writing this on my 3rd Note 4 (if someone is carrying the count) And well, to conclude my already long story...a couple days ago I got another note 4 to try and resell it. However, toying around with it (it's a candian version and i can't seem to get it carrier unlocked) I think i'll keep it as a camera, a notes tool and music player mainly because i discovered a bunch of features I never knew were and, nostalgia I guess...Personally, I think phones peaked when the Note 4 was released and it ABSOLUTELY STINKS that most phones that have the hardware to run modern android versions ended forgotten or in trash bins because the companies that produce them have us conditioned to constantly "get the newest phone" and won't officially update old models nor release batteries that could compete against the terrible quality of the third party one's available

Sometimes I like to look back on old tech just to he were we came from. Retro tech was always one of my favorite things to play with. These are not retro, but old enough to look back on and think... wow. We came so far yet we have stayed the same at the same time.
@user_x6dz3kd8jw 2023-09-24T05:03:17Z
I had one. Really had no ideal what I was getting. I think, the salesman talked me into it. Well long story short, I eventually got Note 8, Note 10+, and looking at s23 Ultra.

Its so comforting to watch old tech videos, it refreshes your old thoughts about this tech, it helps you kinda repeak into those moments, the vibe of that time, the memories.
@user_4812grevselrahc 2023-07-10T20:57:22Z
Watching this on my S23 Ultra I can't believe it's almost been a decade since this beautiful device released, one of the all time greats.
@user_adiemlakrik 2023-06-24T00:13:47Z
This is still the best phone Samsung has ever made, a removable battery, sd card slot, s pen, fingerprint reader, IR blaster, and a headphone jack with metal sides, if they remade this phone today with a modern screen processor and software it would have everything
@user_xinoste 2023-04-24T09:49:15Z

I just had a little bit of nostalgia and looked up all the MKBHD reviews of phone I've had, this one was a phone that really was a great phone with a removable battery.. the camera was great too (at least on it's time) I still have the phone but doesn't work anymore even though it looks brand new ... This was the 2nd Note I had then I had a Note 9 and the Galaxy note 22...err... I mean the Galaxy S22 Ultra
