  This phone is the biggest piece of shit ever! Ive had it for about 3 months completely stopped charging. Sent it to straight talk and got a refurbished phone... Now this one is going on its third month and doesnt charge! And well they were hooking my phone up it took 3 hours and my number got changed. DONT GET THIS PHONE! DONT USE STARIGHT TALK!

  They have smartphones on their prepaid service now, but of course it's $70 for 2GB with their smartphone plan. So I don't blame you for sticking with Straight Talk, when 2GB is their limit as well for only $45.

  I activated it over the phone, I do the auto refill. Straight talk is not perfect but I really haven't had any problems except in talking to customer service, they seem to just know the words to a script, so if you have trouble with one just call back and you might get someone that speaks and sounds more informed. I would prefer to go back to Verizon but it's just too expensive for me right now, just to have better customer service.

  Has anyone tried the HUAWEI Ascend Y.. how does it compare to that? I'm just wondering if the proclaim is a lot faster. I just got the Ascend Y and its just kind of getting on my nerves, I'm not sure I can deal with it LOL I just got rid of an iPhone and I know nothing will probably compare to that but still feel the Ascend is just too laggy and cheap thanks for the input because I am trying to decide between keeping this one or getting the proclaim or Optimus zip.   I talked to st and they said that they remove phones from the available list in certain areas due to other carriers, ei sprint, verizon, att, carry the same phone in that market area. You can buy it from walmart online and it will work in your area. It is on the verizon network. I love this phone

  yea, it's said that the average smartphone user uses at the most 2 GB of data. I don't work for a cellphone company or store, but I do know a few things, mainly from research i've done before buying a product.

  The updates and stuff don't take up very much data at all. For instance my tablet (running jelly bean). I've used about 100 megs in the last week, not counting streaming HD. That's a big one if you stream anything in HD it's going to eat up data SO fast. So youtube videos are fine, but watching movies and stuff on your phone is probably not a good idea. App updates and downloads are a lot of what my tablet is recording, and I think I'm at like 400 megabytes for the month.

  Well after reading your response, I apologize for writing such an antagonistic response to your original post. I work at Best Buy, and one of the guys in mobile uses his phone ALL the time and is extremely knowledgeable about mobile phones and everything about the contracts and things like that. We got to talking one day and he said that he has 3 gigs and he doesn't even come close to using it up, and that's with constant work and personal use.

  I wouldn't watch 10 hours of youtube a day but I would on occasion if I need entertainment. Same thing goes with streaming music. Also, apps that are preloaded or apps that you will download as well as constant system updates to the phone and android OS as well as app updates are done over data so right there, your phone is using data and that will accumulate. I read on forums and apparently there's a secret 2 GB data limit before your account is in danger of termination. Not sure if its true

  this phone isn't all that great, especially on a network that will terminate your account if you dare stream music or videos (read the Straight Talk Terms and Conditions! It defeats the purpose of having a smartphone to begin with). You can get a better phone for the around the same cost or a bit more on a better network that will allow you to use data to the max.

  this phone works great ! ive had for about 2 weeks now. no problems at all. You Tube works flawlessly. you really have to learn how to manage your phone as far as battery goes. i dont use my phone a lot but i can get 2 days one a full charge.

  any tips to help with battery life?? I did the Advanced Task Killer today.. going to see if its better than the previous one I had installed. These apps restart on their own!!! That is the most frustrating.
