  I purchased this phone during a promotion release back in 2010. It is now Memorial Day weekend 2023 and I am still using this phone today.
  
  This phone does two things exceptionally well… Makes and receives calls, with superb clarity, and has a full QWERTY keyboard for texting. With this said, all the duties I need my phone to perform are met, regardless of all the additional features it has that I don’t bother to use.
  
  I am as loyal to this small powerful device as it is to me. T-Mobile will need to shut off their 3G technology completely before I decide to ever let go of my SAMSUNG T479 Gravity 3. To me… Best basic phone ever!

  Contrary to the video, there's a music player, not a great one, but it works & you can listen through the usb connected ear-buds. You can listen to more than one song if they're on/by the same album, artist, or playlist. To store a good number of songs, videos, or photos, you need a micro sd card. There's supposed to be a shuffle feature for the music player, but I haven't figured it out. As a phone it works pretty well (I can hear and be heard) and is great for texting.

  It's amazing to me that reviewers of the Gravity 3 don't notice the screen is larger than the Gravity 2 (I just upgraded from 2 to 3 for that reason). It's also lighter than the 2. If you want a bunch of features, get a smartphone. It "feels uninspired"? It's a basic texting phone with a good qwerty keyboard. For basic talk and text and checking up on Facebook, this phone is totally adequate and it's not expensive. If you want to be "inspired", get a smartphone.

  Mysterious, you're right. They slammed the Samsung Blast. I went ahead and got it, and so love it that I was SERIOUSLY unhappy its no longer offered. I was just at the the T-Mobile store and they had this phone on and the Samsung Smiley. Both are incredible. Am in the process of comparing the 2 as I upgrade in January. I used to do tech support for T-Mobile. Yes, its a basic browser..DUH! They need to look at the phone; at its design. Its a messaging/email/social networking device

  i have this phone, and the qwerty keyboard has a bug thats EXTREMELY annoying, makes it not even worth using. the keyboard is unable to register more than ONE key at a time. It tends to skip keys when switching from thumb to thumb when texting. If you dont let your finger off the key completely before you press the next key, the next key will not register. normal use of the keyboard is completely non-existent. whether or not this bug will be worked out is up to t-mobile/samsung.
