  Second generation of this device: AWFUL AWFUL PHONE! Pocket dials, shutdowns, missed alarms, non-standard headphone jack, can't adjust the (malfunction prone) key-lock timeout to reasonable intervals, screws up messages with a dogy keyboard. Verizon prepaid OS is crap on this. Camera is horribly slow and low quality - you might as well sketch the picture. Not heavy enough to be a paper weight.

  This phone is not that bad. It is very solid and durable. The camera ia decent no amazing but the pictures are not blurry. Yes some color inaccuracies. The keyboard is the best part. the Cosmo keyboard is terrible. The keys are like glass and they get slippery and are difficult to press. Intensity 2 over Cosmos anyday. The problem with these reviews is that they compare them to top of the line phones/smartphones etc so its not a fair review for its catagory which is "Basic Phone"

  This is one of the worst phones I have ever had. It freezes frequently and after a year the phone just won't work. It died today so I stomped the fLuck out of it. I'm going tomorrow to see if I can get a reliable flip phone. These open face phones just suck worse every consecutive revision.

  I have the Intensity original. Good, but basic phone. Its a real pain in the ass to get ringtones onto it. Here's the procedure (kinda): Prepare mp3's for ringtone (0:30 length)> Get samsung drivers for USB (And be lucky if they ever install)> Set phone as modem> Get QPST, and open up EFS explorer (set com port firstly)> navigate to (Brew>mod>mr)> copy over mp3 tones> delete file Mrinfo.db> phone reboot> copy Mrinfo.db to desktop> open and change the second digit '|0|0' to other than 0>...

  Ya right! The Samsung Intensity is pretty basic. It has a 1.3 mega pixel camera that only takes pictures. Since it can't record video, then you can't receive video messages. It's not the phones fault though it's just a phone don't put too much pressure!

  @TheJwdude westerwat is not telling the truth. I used to own this phone but now i own a Droid Incredible 2. This phone does not require a data package but you can subscribe for 9.99 a month to Verizons 1X data plan (not 3G). I you want to get a phone for web browsing I recommend you get a phone with Android.
