  Kept this phone in my pocket and turned on the flashlight by accident. No idea how to turn it off. Looked through the settings menu and couldn't find anything. The manual isn't any help; it doesn't mention the flashlight even once. Can anyone tell me what to do?

  Found it on eBay for $15 and for that money I can’t think of a better phone. KaiOS also finally made the FM radio wireless which is nice.

  I had purchased this phone at Walmart for 19.99. It was scanned and paid for. Went out to car put it on and the 1st thing I noticed was the location symbol and I turned it off and it didn't matter. The phone wasn't even activated yet. Maybe Triangulation? Then I had it set for 2 minutes and it kept going back to 15 seconds. Then people I know were asking if I blocked them. Then I called my daughter and it went straight to voicemail and she did not block me! Very strange. Contacting TCL to find out what caused this.

  I don't like the way the time display on the closed phone is split into two rows of 2 numbers; wish I had the option to change it to look the same

  It is a nicer phone than a flip 2, but is power hungry. If don't use it much, still have to charge 2-3 times a week. I just use it for calls and messages, don't need a full on computer!

  Text messaging..very poor design. In Group Chat mode, it does not Reply to the Group simultaneously. It sends my reply to each person individually. The Group cannot see what I wrote together. Then all the names in the Group appear singly on my phone with the reply I wrote. Predictive is NOT the default mode. Must press button 4 times to get to it. NO button to insert Capital letter where you want it. Abc mode is dysfunctional. All small letters when you switch text mode while writing. NO easy access button in text mode to switch between English & Spanish. Must go into Settings then it switches the ENTIRE phone into Spanish, not just for texting. NO SPEAKER PHONE.

  I’m using one right now because I got to some legal trouble I’m using a spare iPhone rn worst phone to exist I’ve had flip phones two times and this one’s probably the worst one I’ve had The Internet is slow the battery runs down quickly and when you tried to use the voice instead of actually texting it says error!! And just typing on the phone sucks!!! I don’t know why they still make flip phones … i’d rather have no phone at all ugh!!!! Life sucks balls And the camera sucks too

  Walmart has it for $19.88 not sure of all the specs. My ZTE Z233VL charging port bent (tracfone) and now NO phone. so searching. Tracfone chat recommended this as ONE of two in my price range (just walk simple talk/text) The other was the Tracfone Blue Flex.
  Any thoughts MUCH appreciated. Housebound so NEED my phone. Thanks.

  Jose, could you find a flip phone that is of the same size as the ones from the 2007-2015 timeline, before they weren't 8-9 inches long when flipped open, they were far smaller. Also why would it be impossible for a phone manufacturer to produce a phone of this past size (6 inches) with a camera that can record in 1080p and take HD pics? Seeing that cameras have come a long way. Maybe you could bounce these ideas off some companies you are talking to, if any? Or see if such a thing exists?

  I think really the only truly good and uncompromising smart phone flip phone has been the Galaxy Folder 2 and it was well priced to boot. Wish there was something newer but alas we suffer.

  This phone is terrible I used it for a month there’s a glitch with the outer screen where it randomly turns on and sometimes never turns off until you open and close it. It’s heavy and the screen is very low resolution

  I just realized, the original TCL Flip was KaiOS 3.0, TCL Flip 2 was AOSP (Android Open Source), and now back to KaiOS (3.1) here.

  I think it's worth noting that a TracFone variant is coming out soon (model T435D). Price should be $20 or $30, much more reasonable.
  
  That being said, while the hardware should be identical, on the software side I wouldn't be surprised if they remove some "premium" features, namely KaiVA.

  I used the TCL Flip 2 for over a year, and it was only possible due to the Android OS that allowed me to root and sideload essential software like speech to text and button mapper. Shame that the followup to such a great phone went with KaiOS. Those great upgrades would tempt me but no sideload and no speech to text means they don't even matter. I'll just continue to hope the Light Phone 3 will be everything I want lol.

  I work at Verizon, and I just today learned this came out thanks to poking around our software. I gotta say, switching the hinge back to interior is a massive upgrade/return from a comfort point of view. I've owned both prior generations and this is just a better design. Definitely wish they improved the build quality more, maybe add some new features, but the hinge alone is a massive win in my eyes.
